Earth Elements - Dedicated to Sustainability

Since its inception in 2013 Earth Elements Design Center has been dedicated to the green building movement.  Ben Jones, managing partner at Earth Elements, has been a custom home builder in the Montana area for over 10 years.  He is a certified NAHB Certified Green Professional and a LEED Accredited Professional.  The National Association of Home Builders Certified Green Professionals designation recognizes industry professionals who infuse green and sustainable building principles into their homes. LEED professional credentials, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, signifies leadership and active participation in the green building movement.

Since the new year, the Earth Elements showroom has made several changes towards an environmentally conscious footprint.  With our Miele Coffee Machine, we were going through quite a few single use coffee cups each day.  In order to become more sustainable, we switched to biodegradable paper coffee cups in our Miele showroom kitchen.  Instead of providing plastic water bottles to our guests, we now offer fresh lemon and cucumber water from glass drink dispensers in our showroom kitchen.  The water is served in Greenware cups, which are recyclable, biodegradable and compostable. In addition, Earth Elements provides each employee with a reusable coffee mug and water bottle.  By providing reusable water bottles and coffee mugs, Earth Elements staff can cut down on their environmental footprint as well.

At Earth Elements we strive to work with companies and offer products that mirror our dedication to the green housing movement.  One such company is Bark House, whose wood tile wall covering we offer.  They designed an innovative product line that is a great example of the sustainable efforts in the interior design industry. Bark House founded its business to make use of Reclaimed Appalachian Wood Waste.  They create beautiful wall coverings using reclaimed bark from trees. Sourcing materials from sustainable forests, Bark House products have a gold level certification, Cradle to Cradle and B Corp certifications to solidify their commitment to sustainable manufacturing.  Bark House allows us to bring nature into homes, fostering a connection with nature and bring sustainability into the design of your home.

Arrigoni, one of our wood flooring suppliers, sources its woods from sustainably managed forests in Europe.  Their PEFC certificate is Europe’s quality seal for wood harvested from sustainable forests.  Arrigoni harnesses green energy from its thermal power station to produce energy for production processes, office building, the local monastery, grammar school and half of the homes in the village of Admont.  Their production processes do not contaminate the air or water. Arrigoni’s pledge to environmentally responsible manufacturing can be seen though their actions, for each tree felled four are planted.

Ceaserstone is the first quartz surfacing company to receive the ISO 14001 certification, a global standard in environmental protection.  They recycle 97% of water used in their manufacturing process. From investing in recycling installations to management and storage of raw materials, Ceaserstone strives to prevent environmental harm. Their non-porous materials prevent surface mold and microbes requiring less maintenance and detergent usage.

Earth Elements is committed to finding and supplying products for our clients that reflect our desire to maintain and protect the natural beauty of the environment. We strive to help design homes that save energy, use sustainable resources, reduce pollution and contribute to a healthier environment for our community.
